The Hub
Welcome to The NCDA Hub!
NCDA’s new on-demand learning platform features a variety of courses and opportunities to earn continuing education (CE) credits.
If you are new to the HUB, please view all details below.
If you are returning to register for a course, then scroll down and select "What courses are available?"
What is The Hub?
The Hub is an online portal NCDA is using to provide access to a variety of continuing education courses and materials.
The Hub was developed in part as a response to an NCDA member survey conducted in November 2021 -- 75% of participants identified “online training modules (on-demand; self-paced)” as a preferred method for gaining professional development.
Who is The Hub designed for?
The Hub is designed for career development professionals working in all of NCDA’s constituency groups:
- Counselor Educators and Researchers
- Graduate Students
- Higher Education Career Counselors and Specialists
- Private Practice, Business/Industry, Agency Career Counselors and Specialists
- School Career Counselors and Specialists
The Hub aims to support those who are interested in professional development, specifically continuing their education. All courses currently lead to continuing education (CE) credits, which meet many certification and licensure requirements, including NCDA’s professional credentials.
It is for both NCDA members and non-members.
What can I expect from courses on The Hub?
Most courses on The Hub are on-demand and self-paced. This means that you can enroll in them at any time and work through them at your own speed.
Course content includes a variety of ways to engage in each topic. For example, you may find:
- self-assessments
- podcasts
- videos
- articles
- case studies
Most courses also include a brief quiz to assess your learning.
Can I earn CEs on The Hub?
Yes! After enrolling in a course and completing all course requirements, you can print or download a completion certificate that indicates the number of continuing education contact hours (CEs) you earned from the course.
How are on-demand courses created in The Hub?
NCDA’s professional development team works with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and committees to determine potential course topics. Subject matter experts are then identified and contracted to create the course content. These experts serve as course authors. Additional subject matter experts serve as course reviewers, providing a quality check of each course after it is developed and before it is offered to learners.
You can learn more about the course authors and outside course reviewers in the “Course Acknowledgements” section of each course.
For more information or questions, contact Melissa Venable, NCDA Director of Professional Development, at mvenable@ncda.org.
