Re-Framing CAREER to CARE ©
The traditional way most people view career relates to paid work, and this narrow focus dilutes efforts to make effective sustaining interventions in peoples’ lives. In recognition of purpose, personal agency, and spirituality in career construction, participants are introduced to Depth-Oriented Values Extraction (DOVE) and review several specific interventions designed to move beyond objective assessment and toward the client’s inner “true self”.
Webinar attendees will leave this session with 1) A brief overview of the career-life paradigm that informs the DOVE process and fundamentals, 2) the recently modified wellness paradigm that re-frames career to giving and/or receiving CARE across all career-life roles, including the addition of a new life role that affects virtually every individual, and 3) a PDF that provides a succinct summary of the paradigms, relevant references, Internet resources and suggested tips for career services providers working in a variety of K-12, college and agency settings, including multi-cultural clients and students.
