Career Practitioner Supervision

 

 

NCDA is offering a 40-hour Career Practitioner Supervision Training Program. This training is for those individuals interested in clinical supervision of career development practitioners. Participants must commit to attending the two full and two half days of face-to-face training (30 hours) plus complete 10 additional hours of practicum work including communication with the trainers via emails and video-tapes.

Day One: 1:00 – 9:00 pm

Day Two: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Day Three: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Cost:

$895 per person + travel and lodging at your own expense

 

CEUs and Credentialing:

Each participant will receive 40 hours of continuing education.

 

Selection:

The deadline for applications is TBD. NCDA will select up to 20 participants for this training. The selection will be based on qualifications of the applicants and final decisions will be communicated by TBD.

5. E-learning and Video Taping Capability

  • A portion of the training will be done via e-learning. At minimum participants must have keyboard skills, access to the Internet, and be familiar with using email and email attachments.

  • After the face to face training, participants are required to submit at least two 15 to 20 minutes of video-tape demonstrating supervisory skills, either in a real life session or a role play. They will also be required to provide a written review explaining the session and their performance and approach

  • Describe how you intend to use the knowledge and skills gained from the successful completion of Supervisor Training to provide clinical supervision to career development practitioners.

 

APPLICATION/SELECTION CRITERIA

 

Education and Experience

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or higher in counseling, career counseling or related advanced degree (such as human resource development, psychology, social work or education)

  • 3 years of career development experience (teaching, training, materials development, practice)

  • Experience in adult instruction/training

  • Recent (within 4 years) continuing education in career development

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Presentations and/or published books/training materials related to career development

  • Experience in clinical or administrative supervision

 

OR

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a human services major(such as human resource development, psychology, social work)

  • 5 years experience delivering career development services (working with individuals or groups to assist them with career planning and seeking employment)

  • Career Development Facilitator Certificate or Career Development Facilitator Instructor Certificate

  • Experience in adult instruction/training

  • Recent (within 4 years) continuing education in career development

 

Desirable Qualifications

  • Presentations and/or published books/training materials related to career development

  • Experience in clinical or administrative supervision

 

Certifications/Memberships
